meeting Al Gore @ Current TV Italy

well, believe it or not, we have been honored by the presence of Mr Al Gore himself for the launch of Current TV here in Italy.
I was a little bit embarrassed...yet really glad and excited to be able to chat with him...and see that of course is just a human being like everybody else.

he thanked us for the hard work creating and launching this amazing new project here in Italy. And it doesn't happen really often to listen to those words from a Peace Nobel PRize...does it?

well, seems like all the sleepless nights were worth it!

soon I will update these pages with some new stuff...stay tuned, or whatever

current TV and some updates...

Hallo everybody!
I don't even know if anybody comes here sometimes, but I thought it was time to update these pages after about half a year I wrote the last entry.

Well, after NY I ended up working a lot in Los Angeles. Besides the amazing human experiences over there, I got the chance to join great projects working for Roger.TV, Buck, Raffi Simonian at Nau and Mr. Kyle Cooper himself at Prologue in Venice.

Now I'm back in Italy, where I joined Current TV that is about to broadcast its channel over here.
I must confess I'm really excited about this project. Besides their really inspiring graphic stuff, I feel myself really close to their contents and their mission. Thus, I really hope this first collaboration will lead to something important in the future.
I'll keep you updated..almost.

I'm just waiting to get final clearance on some stuff and I will be able to post some boards and movies I have done lately. And maybe and updated reel. I said maybe.

So, here I am after months not telling you what I was doing and where.
I can say I'm in my beloved country right now, but just to say goodbye once again.
I'm booking my flight back to Los Angeles in fact, getting ready to join some cool projects over there!

I took the pics above at the beginning of September, while I was working in New York.
Even if the final result deeply changed since the inception of the project, I still could see some of the graphic loops I made in early August in Santa Monica at Purepost, for the CW Network.
I must confess it's been really a great emotion see my stuff in such a great location, and not just in a TV! I go crazy thinking about how many people (with their stories and backgrounds) must have been passed by those screens. The CW guys rented both the Nasdaq and the Reuters building for the whole September, from 6 to 9 pm...not bed as a spot!

I definitely had great time in the US and I'm looking forward to work there again...a couple of things are about to happen...

SKY CINEMA

well...still working on the big Sport project right now...so I felt like I want to remember "old glorious days" while I was also working for cinema products...like the two below. Actually, few months have been passed and I just see what I don't like of these graphics...like the horrible lower thirds in the February version or all the silly mistakes in the 3d animations of the April one. Anyway, they seems they did appreciate, indeed: an updated version of my package still promote monthly sky cinema productions. Here they are...

champions league final

so...they say they're going to fight for the final next Wednesday...well...I don't care...but I had great time developing graphics for the Champions League Promotion here in Sky...the basic package first and the final elements for the final match then (thanks to 3d modelists who helped me!).
everything started from the few 2D elements they gave to us...like the city top-view picture or the gradients for backgrounds. All the other stuff was developed thanks to Cinema 4D, After Effects and imagination...as usual!

Music On Sky

Ok, this isn't actually something new, but I had great time doing that. THere was no elements already created I could use, except for the static graphic I had to animate. So It's been a matter of filling up 15 seconds with nothing, but not letting them understand that.(?) One thing I'm particulary proud of is the speaker. It is actually made in After Effects with fake 3D, using illustrator boards I had created. But it seems to work at the end!

Thanks to my dear friend Giuliano Camarda who let me join this project for the national network television almost a year ago. It's nice not to feel so lonely trying to fight against italian typical motion-graphics...but something's gonna change, sooner or later.

Currently I'm bringing on some different projects at the same time...hopeing this is not going to affect the final quality of everything...anyway. Today i had to adapt soccer on-air graphic package adding some poker elements...nothing special but challenging anyway.
more cool stuff on their way...and I'm starting English classes, so I hope I'll stop making so many mistakes...or not?we'll see
